Perky Beans Cafe in Leander, TX is looking to hire a Full-Time or Part-Time Line Cook to join our team. This detail-oriented role uses various cooking methods to prepare menu items in a timely manner, following cafe recipes and instructions.

This position earns a competitive wage of $18-$19/hour. We provide fantastic perks, including weekly pay, opportunities for advancement, free coffee drinks, and a discounted meal each shift. While primarily known as a breakfast/brunch restaurant, we recently expanded our hours and menu to include dinner service, and now have shifts available from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff and use various cooking methods to prepare orders to specified recipes and standards.
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
• Perform portion control and minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Clean up station and label, date, and cover leftover food.
• Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the chef.
• Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort.
• Understanding of cooking methods, procedures, and knife handling skills.
• Ability to read and follow cooking directions.
• Able to multi-task and work on more than one order at a time.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
• Able to remain on their feet for several hours straight.
• Able to carry at least 35 pounds easily.
