We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities. SCHEDULE
The typical schedule for this position is: Monday 6:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday 6am-11am, Wednesday 6:00am-9:00am and 3:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday 3:00pm-Midnight, and Sunday 6:00am-3:00pm, Days and times may vary
The nature of this position will require availability to address urgent program needs or emergencies outside of the typical schedule and may include day, swing, overnight and weekend hours

As a Residential Disabilities Program Assistant, your day will be dynamic and fulfilling. You will start by engaging with residents, assisting them in developing essential social skills and effectively communicating their needs. Throughout the day, you will provide support with daily living activities, ensuring high personal hygiene and medical needs are met while maintaining safety. You will collaborate closely with the Program Coordinator to plan and execute various in-home and community activities tailored to each individual's goals, while actively monitoring and participating in the implementation of Person Centered Service Plans and Behavior Supports. Additionally, you will assist in training new staff, managing shopping for necessary supplies, and overseeing client finances, all while fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes independence and well-being.
This Assistant position is over the Hughes Apartments in Cedar City. The Coordinator of the Hughes Apartments supports up to 10 clients, living in 4 apartments, and a goldfish named Garfield. Staffing in this program consists of the Program Coordinator, Program Assistant and 10+ DSPs. The clients in this program enjoy participating in events around town, going on trips to Mesquite, Disneyland, going on cruises and to the movies, for drives in the canyon and attending area wide weekly activities.
