DAY-TO-DAY

This part-time retail position offers a flexible schedule with no early mornings and no late evenings.

As a part-time Garden Center Cashier, you ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by greeting them as they come in and maintaining an upbeat, can-do attitude. Using the point-of-sale (POS) system, you accurately ring up customer orders. You answer questions and provide information on procedures, policies, and products. With a solid understanding of our customer loyalty program, you enthusiastically educate customers about it as they check out. When complaints or concerns arise, you address them with patience and empathy, bringing them to the attention of store management when necessary. Your customer service skills shine as you help each person in the store.

At the beginning of your shift, you count the money in the cash drawers to ensure the amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Since you are accountable for an error-free cash register, you are always meticulous about processing payments. With attention to detail, you calculate total payments received during a time period and reconcile this with total sales. When things are slow, you perform general garden center maintenance, such as watering plants near the cash register and answering phones. You love meeting our customers and helping them get everything they need for a great garden!
