YOUR ROLE AS A DAY PROGRAM SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

A typical day for a full- or part-time Day Program Support Professional will involve facilitating a variety of enriching activities for clients. This will include transporting clients to community events such as picnics, swimming outings, festivals, fairs, and bowling. You will lead creative exercise sessions, incorporating accessible yoga and other movement activities. A key responsibility will be teaching social skills and daily living skills to promote client independence. The Support Professional will assist clients with their daily routines, including self-care, hygiene, motor skills development, arts and crafts, vocational skills, work habits, and community integration. This role also includes assisting with behavior management and recreational activities. Throughout the day, the Support Professional will model appropriate social skills and behaviors, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Accurate documentation and prompt reporting of any health or safety concerns are essential components of this position.


REQUIREMENTS FOR A DAY PROGRAM SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

  • 18+ years of age
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record
  • Willing to drive large vehicles for community engagement and transportation to/from client homes
  • A heart for serving people with developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be discreet with confidential information
  • Ability to work well with others

We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities. With locations from Brigham City to St. George, we offer a full range of services including day programs, residential living, art center programs, summer camp, and supported employment opportunities.
