A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Special Education Teacher, you wear multiple hats, developing and coordinating comprehensive educational programs that encompass academics, fine and gross motor skills, language skills, behavioral and social development, and essential activities of daily living. Crafting Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student in your class is a fundamental aspect of your work. You also take the lead in supervising and evaluating classroom teaching assistants, teacher aides, and assigned float teacher aides, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Your dedication and expertise contribute significantly to the growth and development of our students. Your role is both challenging and rewarding, with the Director of Special Education providing the necessary support, training, and guidance as you empower and inspire the young minds you serve!


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (required)

A Massachusetts Special Needs teaching license or a license-eligible waiver from DESE is desired, as is a Severe Special Needs license.


WORK SCHEDULE

Enjoy a standard Monday - Friday schedule with weekends off. You'll also enjoy a week off in April, during the 4th of July, and at Christmas time!
