Director of Business Development - South Jordan, UT

Western States Lodging & Management
South Jordan, UT Full Time

Description

Ready to ripple growth with a real estate management and development company focused on people first, properties second? Western States Lodging and Management (WSLM)-a company that specializes in senior living, hospitality, and multi-family housing, is searching for it's next business development leader to help expand third-party management services.

What makes this role unique?

This isn't just about sales-it's about strategy, leadership, and relationship-building. You'll be on a team identifying new business opportunities, beginning and nurturing relationships with potential partners, and presenting deals to the executive team, helping to grow WSLM's portfolio and impact.

You'll help with the entire sales process-from prospecting and networking to negotiating. It's a high-visibility role, working directly with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and collaborating with teams across revenue operations, development and operations to make things happen.

The pay range for this role will depend on experience and will follow a set commission structure.

The four hats you'll wear in this role:

  • Ambassador - You're an ambassador of WSLM, building relationships and representing the brand as you grow relationships through the power of technology (think phone and Teams).
  • Consultant - You're an expert, guiding potential clients on how WSLM can positively impact the performance of their property and why we are the best choice for third-party management.
  • Collaborator - You'll work across departments to align business development with overall company strategy.
  • Coach - You'll keep external growth top-of-mind across the company, mentoring internal teams on how to support WSLM's expansion goals.

The must-haves (a.k.a. deal breakers):

Experience in B2B, senior living or hospitality business development. Proven track record of closing deals-this is a mid-level sales role. Ability to manage a sales pipeline and hit annual quotas-you'll need to keep multiple deals moving at once and the strategic mind to quickly pivot to keep each phase of the pipeline progressing. You have to be comfortable working remote, leveraging technology to build relationships. You're a tenacious relationship builder who thrives in a remote environment-this role gives a lot of autonomy, so you need to be self-motivated.

Must be comfortable making cold calls and using Microsoft Teams.

Nice-to-haves (but not deal breakers):

  • A degree in business, marketing, or real estate development.
  • Experience using CRM tools to track sales and pipeline performance.

Why you might love this role:

  • High-impact position - You'll be part of the team shaping the company's growth and driving revenue.
  • Stellar earning potential - Base salary + commission structure means upside for top performers.
  • Remote flexibility - Work from home, not as a road-warrior.
  • Fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment - If you love building things and making deals, this is a dream role.

Bottom line:

This is an amazing opportunity for someone who thrives on making deals and building relationships, and wants to play a major role in a company's growth. But it's not for someone who needs hand-holding, dislikes sales, or isn't comfortable with building relationships leveraging the power of technology.
