PAY & BENEFITS

This full-time position works about 30 hours per week, which is considered full-time here at TURN. You work Monday - Friday during the day, with some flexibility based on clients' needs.

ABOUT US

TURN Community Services was founded in 1973 by a group of parents who wanted better services for their adult children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities. With locations from Brigham City to St. George, we offer a full range of services including day programs, residential living, art center programs, summer camp, and supported employment opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 18+ years old
  • ACRE certification OR ability to earn one within 3 months of hire - we can assist you!
  • Proficiency with computers and typing
  • Heart for working with individuals with disabilities
  • Valid driver's license, current insurance, clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle to transport clients in
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient demeanor, stress management skills, and ability to work independently

 

AVERAGE DAY AS AN EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST

In this entry-level human services role, you help our clients develop useful vocational skills and find employment. Always outgoing and personable, you engage in outreach activities to encourage new students to join our program. As students enroll, you complete assessments to determine where they shine and where they need extra support. Using this information, you develop and present vocational training and life skills courses, helping every student improve.

The fun doesn't end there; you also reach out to local businesses and organizations to help clients land interviews and find appropriate jobs. You encourage clients to advocate for themselves, helping them learn how to use transportation systems, apply for additional services, and interact with coworkers. You take pride in playing such a critical role in every student's personal and professional growth!
