THE GROWTH YOU HELP PROVIDE AS A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

This is a full-time engineering position based in Cary, NC. You will work regular hours with occasional travel to customer sites, up to 75% of the time, ensuring our clients receive top-notch technical support and service.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will spend your days diving into technical documentation, collaborating with project managers and engineers, and meticulously planning your travel and logistics. Upon arriving at customer sites, you will conduct formal introductions, attend safety briefings, and inspect work areas to ensure everything is in order. Your primary focus will be on laying out dryer footprints, verifying installations, and making sure all components are securely fastened and meet Buhler's high standards. You will constantly monitor contractors' work, provide detailed daily reports, and offer recommendations for any necessary field corrections. Additionally, you will run customer products through our equipment, verify operational performance, and balance dryer airflow to achieve optimal efficiency. Throughout the process, you will provide valuable training to customer operators and maintenance personnel, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the equipment.

 

OUR IDEAL FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

  • 3+ years of experience in installation
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings and ladder logic
  • Skills in setting and adjusting gas trains, burners, and actuators (electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical power, control equipment, and programs
  • Experience with various test and measurement equipment, including electrical/electronic test equipment, pressure measurement and control equipment, air and gas flow equipment, and moisture and humidity monitoring tools
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

A bachelor's degree and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred but not required!
