YOUR ROLE:

As our Mechanical Designer - Engineer, you will oversee the mechanical engineering tasks necessary for designing, manufacturing, and delivering Buhler dryers. Your daily duties include performing component sizing calculations, maintaining organized documentation, and ensuring all drawings provided to manufacturing are accurate and complete. You'll select dryer components based on sales contracts and process specifications, ensuring they meet technical requirements and fit correctly. Your responsibilities also include creating parts with the appropriate documentation and classifications, aligning activities with project schedules, prioritizing tasks to meet budget and deadlines, and addressing design and manufacturing queries. Additionally, you'll inspect components, monitor work-in-progress and finished machinery, provide equipment manual details to Project Managers, verify accuracy, actively participate in project meetings with team members, suppliers, and customers, and resolve any post-delivery design and engineering issues. Throughout your work, you will closely collaborate with your team to ensure our designs are innovative, efficient, and of the highest quality, significantly impacting our products and processes.


THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency with engineering drafting/drawings and engineering principles and calculation, including the strength of materials, stress analysis, and dynamics
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly practices, e.g., welding, sheet metal forming, press operations, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory codes
  • Knowledge of ISO GPS dimensioning and tolerances
  • Familiarity with 8D processes
  • Familiarity with Windchill and SAP
  • Ability to model complex assemblies in Autodesk Inventor
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of the time

Having a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is a plus!
