This role as a Dietitian - Nutritionist works part-time.

 

YOUR DAY

While working as a Dietitian-Nutritionist you oversee the screening of new clients for nutritional risk and the need for assessment, primarily in the residential programs. You meticulously evaluate each individual, considering their unique dietary requirements and health concerns. With your expertise, you make recommendations to the admissions committee about ESNY's capability to address the nutritional health needs of potential clients. Next, you dive into performing thorough nutritional assessments. You carefully measure height and weight to calculate BMI-for-age using the CDC growth charts. Collaborating closely with nursing staff and primary care physicians, you assess energy, protein, and fluid intake against the recommended levels, paying special attention to bowel management. With a keen eye for detail, you diagnose current nutrition issues and develop tailored interventions and goals. Your dedication ensures that each client receives personalized care to optimize their nutritional well-being.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field allowing pursuit of licensure
  • Completion of a dietetic internship
  • Current state licensure and registration or eligibility to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Experience with developmental disabilities (preferred)
