WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A JOB READINESS AND HOSPITALITY TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Strong technical skills that effectively convey information by creating a positive learning atmosphere
  • Demonstrated ability to show concern and sensitivity towards program participants while addressing individual needs and learning styles and maintaining consistent student training and education standards
  • Efficacy working with persons with disabilities and non-traditional students
  • 5+ years of practical experience in the field of retail and/or hospitality

 

DAY-TO-DAY

This full-time teaching position works up to 35 hours per week in an office environment.

When you join our human services nonprofit as a Job Readiness and Hospitality Training Instructor, you are responsible for instructing participants in At Your Services training, utilizing the START curriculum approved by the American Hotel and Lodging Association, along with our proprietary Job Readiness Curriculum. You assist in developing written lesson plans and ensure they're in line with industry standards while meeting current labor market demands. Continuously updating the curriculum to reflect the latest trends is crucial to ensuring participants are equipped with relevant skills. Throughout the day, you administer both written and practical tests to gauge participants' comprehension and proficiency. Your dedication to excellence helps shape the future success of individuals in the hospitality sector.
