Main Purpose of the Position
Provide overall supervision of the day-to-day operations of various building service contracts held by Wildcat, a Division of Fedcap. Supervises crew workers at customer locations and insures that all contracts are being fulfilled according to terms and specifications. These tasks will include but not limited to cleaning and maintaining shelters, cleaning rugs and floors, removing trash, replacing supplies in bathrooms, cleaning bathrooms, offices, stairs, hallways, kitchens, dorms, porter closets and linen room, removing garbage, stripping waxing and polishing floors, maintaining grounds, removing snow and graffiti, and any other work as directed by the customer. Supervisors will be required to complete cleaning duties as well, especially if they are short-staffed. The Supervisor position does not have a set schedule and is subject to change work location or shift to accommodate last minute emergencies, coverages of sites, and/or any other Facilities Management operational needs.
Essential Functions
Management and Operations
- Coordinate the cleaning aspects of the facilities in a manner which protects, maintains, and improves the quality of the janitorial services, maintaining the value-added asset to the customer.
- Monitor overall janitorial performance, as per scope of work and contractual agreements.
- Manage multiple porters, through effective communication, supervision, training and scheduling to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor performance of all designated crew workers of contracted services and take necessary action to assure performance and contracted services are performing up to our maximum standards.
- Purchase and recommend better use of building and maintenance supplies, machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of computer programs (Excel and Word).
- Track and document daily attendance (report to dispatch by radio or phone) and incident reports related to inappropriate crew behavior or safety.
- Teach, train, counsel, and mentor all crew members for increased performance.
- Must have janitorial etiquette (understand how to perform job task while least disturbing Shelter staff and residents) and delivering an immaculate service.
- Insure all required documents for attendance and billing are properly completed and signed by the designated person.
- Perform other task not listed as needed.

Qualifications
- Must have a valid NYS Driver's license and a good driving record.
- High School Diploma required
- Associate degree, or equivalent vocational/technical training required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- OSHA 40
- 3-5 years current maintenance, janitorial, and/or custodial experience
- 2-3 years supervisory experience with five or more employees and demonstrates good leadership qualities.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
- Must be able to prepare reports, job descriptions, job tasks, and other vital reports in excel and word.
- Must be able to supervise, train, and direct multiple employees.
- Must have janitorial technical skills including: use of chemicals, equipment, waxing and stripping floors, carpet extracting, team cleaning, scrub and recoat, bathroom cleaning, and specialty services.
- Must be flexible and/or able to cover or work during any shift, weekday, weeknight/overnight and/or weekend shifts, at any of the locations with limited notice, and as requested by management.
- Some proficiency and use of email, Microsoft Office Word, and Excel.
