ABOUT THIS ROLE

As Director of Business Services, your day revolves around ensuring smooth operations with the right data, tools, and resources. You train staff on standard procedures, workflow, and using Zoom and FedcapCARES software. Providing essential coaching and troubleshooting support for Fedcap software is also crucial. You track enhancements and document them for FedcapCARES. Regularly, you generate performance reports and handle inquiries from the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Family Independence. Providing accurate performance data to the executive team aids in strategic planning. You maintain up-to-date operational policies, ensuring adherence to security standards. Accurate metrics and reporting to Fedcap, the state of Maine, and other stakeholders are essential to your role. Your day also includes reviewing service quality and activities and keeping an eye on performance indicators and audit results. Finally, you ensure your professional knowledge remains current by attending workshops, keeping abreast of publications, and actively participating in networking opportunities.

Our specific focus areas include case management, work readiness, vocational or employer-based training, job placement, and post-placement support.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS SERVICES

Our human services nonprofit needs a proficient communicator available to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekends as required. While travel primarily remains local during business hours, occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may be necessary. If you meet the following qualifications, you could be an ideal candidate for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human services, or a related discipline OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to analyze and document business processes, gather requirements, and create functional specifications for IT projects
  • Experience conducting data analysis, data modeling, and creating data visualizations to support business decision-making
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to pinpoint business requirements and effectively translate them into actionable solutions, ensuring their successful implementation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in conducting user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Familiarity with management information systems (preferred)
  • Expertise in providing technical training to non-technical professionals (preferred)
