QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's (BA or BS) degree
  • 2+ years of experience in the social service/education field OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Strong organizational, administration, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and believe in the rights and abilities of all people
  • Good mapping and planning skills
  • Time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred.


A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JOB SKILLS TRAINER

Your typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but occasional evening and weekend work may be needed based on job demands.

In this role, you are an indispensable part of our nonprofit! You help students create resumes, monitor their progress in meeting curriculum goals, and keep parents in the loop about their child's development. You also attend networking events and collaborate with school staff, employers, and DVRS to share program updates.

You coordinate internships, set up job sampling experiences, handle travel logistics, and provide on-site job coaching. By conducting progress assessments weekly, documenting promptly, and sending monthly updates to counselors, you stay organized and efficient. This role is incredibly rewarding, and you have a positive impact on others every day!
