YOUR NEW ROLE

In this Health Insurance Advocate position, you educate people about their health coverage options and help them enroll in the best plan for them. Earning competitive pay of $45,000 - $52,000 per year, you travel to sites throughout NYC and meet with potential applicants to help them navigate the complex landscape of health plans. You provide comprehensive, "disability-accessible" education where you help applicants enroll in the best plan for their needs. By conducting screenings, addressing concerns, and counseling applicants through the enrollment process, you play a direct role in helping others find quality health coverage!

REQUIREMENTS FOR OUR HEALTH INSURANCE ADVOCATE

• Bachelor's degree in a field such as social work OR an associate degree with equivalent experience
• Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills
• Experience working with low-income families and individuals
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems
• Willingness to adjust work schedule as needed and travel to various locations in different boroughs
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a strong interest in health reform
