ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Special Needs Instructor with Easterseals New York's Kessler Center, your day is dedicated to creating a motivating classroom environment, delivering curriculum-aligned lessons, monitoring student progress, and documenting both academic and non-academic aspects. You collaborate with teacher aides, attend meetings, and fulfill administrative responsibilities while prioritizing student safety and well-being. Communication with families, professional development, and fostering a community of learners are also vital aspects of your role. Your commitment to student success is evident in everything you do.

The Kessler Center is an approved private special education (853) school offering both residential (CRP) and day placements for students with developmental disabilities. We are an available option for school districts seeking an out-of-district placement since the Kessler Center has broad expertise working with students across the entire range of developmental disabilities. In addition, The Kessler Center has advanced expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorders and working with children with developmental disabilities who struggle with behavioral challenges.
