YOUR NEW ROLE AS A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

As a Workforce Development Specialist, your day is a mix of no-nonsense efficiency and friendly engagement. You handle the TABE test for 10 to 30 participants, whether in the office or virtually, with precision in record-keeping.Your role as a mentor means leading straightforward workshops on job search skills. You cut to the chase in helping participants with resumes and navigating computer-driven job searches. Your knack for organization is clear as you track attendance, interviews, and placements. You stick to the Career Services guidelines, distributing metro cards promptly. Beyond that, you offer no-frills resources and referrals for various needs.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year college degree in human services, social work, education, or comparable work-related experience
  • Ability to deliver specific curriculum, differentiate instruction, and lead groups
  • Experience and/or a demonstrated desire to work with the economically disadvantaged, homeless, and/or public assistance recipients' populations
  • Ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple priorities, and excel in a team environment
  • Bilingual (English Spanish) preferred
