THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications:

  • High school education or GED
  • Ability to attend 20 hours of training per year
  • Commitment to providing high-quality services to individuals with disabilities in community and residential settings

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS A CAREGIVER - DSP

In this role, you're the unsung hero, providing vital support to individuals with disabilities in their community residential homes. You are their go-to person for everyday tasks like housekeeping, meal preparation, and attending appointments. You also have the chance to take them to fun recreational and social activities, ensuring their well-being and making sure they have a blast!

You play a crucial role, providing direct supervision according to treatment plans and showcasing your expertise in areas such as task analysis, goal implementation, job coaching, report writing, and behavioral interventions. You help them gain independence in community-based activities, job tasks, and residential activities, all while guiding them to develop essential social skills and build meaningful relationships.

You're involved in creating and revising training plans, implementing approved training and behavior plans, and using your sharp observation skills to provide valuable data-based recommendations. Your attention to detail ensures quality control standards are met, and as a positive role model, you maintain necessary documentation, prepare reports, and be the guardian of their safety and well-being. It warms your heart to see the difference you make!
