WHAT DOES A JOB COACH - VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION COUNSELOR DO?
As a Job Coach - Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, you are a supportive employment counselor and advocate for our awesome client workers. You use motivational interviewing and other brief interventions to make sure they're feeling confident and thriving in their roles. Plus, you're here to help with transitional and post-employment support to keep them rocking it in the private sector. When it comes to reviewing corrective and disciplinary action notices, you're on it with attention to detail and the right counseling interventions.
When it comes to paperwork, you've got it covered by making sure all documentation is up-to-date and in line with SourceAmerica/NYSID standards. Keeping detailed case notes and summaries of your interventions is your jam, and you're always happy to make referrals for outside providers if clients have complex needs. And let's not forget your role as a consultant to clients' supervisors on all things job-related - accommodations, performance, behavior, quality of work, and anything else that comes up. You're making a difference to individuals with disabilities - and it does your heart good!
