ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THIS FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING LEAD JOB?

Working with the Director of Accounting, you're an essential contributor to shaping the financial landscape of our organization. Your main objective is to establish clear priorities, schedules, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for our team of senior and staff accountants. Your meticulous attention to detail guarantees the smooth delegation and review of financial data from various departments, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries into the general ledger. You spend time diligently identifying and investigating anomalies or unexpected items during the month-end close. After reviewing preliminary financial data and conducting a comprehensive analysis of variances against our budget, you propose necessary adjusting entries. You frequently engage with operational managers and local finance teams to resolve issues and ensure the precision of our financial reports.

Furthermore, your expertise is instrumental in providing valuable feedback to our operational staff based on historical results, as well as developing action plans for future success. You also take on the responsibility of mentoring and advising staff on complex entries, suggesting process improvements, and conducting annual performance reviews. As the compass guiding our financial success, you play a vital role in fostering growth and maintaining the integrity of our financial operations!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

The knowledge and skills required are:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Supervisory experience in a large, complex, multi-faceted organization

Software Skills:

  • Excel (pivot tables/Vlookup proficiency), ERP software
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills in Oracle, Microsoft Office, Adobe
  • Outlook, Salesforce, and other related software

Experience working in a nonprofit is strongly preferred.
