YOUR LIFE AS A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) WEEKEND COORDINATOR

This flexible habilitation position with our nonprofit typically works on weekends. A typical schedule is 4:00 pm, Friday - 9:00 am, Monday. You are paid for 20 hours of work unless you are needed to work more hours while on call.

You also have the opportunity to work fully remote as long as you are within an hour of the clients. If you excel at coordinating coverage for people, you may never need to go in yourself.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Weekend Coordinator, your day is a mix of downtime and action-packed moments. You work from home, so feel free to kick back, relax, and enjoy your downtime when the phone isn't ringing. But when that phone does start to ring, it's go-time. You are responsible for providing at-home care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. You enjoy helping them to achieve their daily living goals and supporting them through whatever challenges they might face.

You excel as a remote caregiver! Some days you might be called upon to provide hands-on assistance, helping with tasks like cooking, cleaning, or bathing. On other days, you might be called upon to offer emotional support by listening to and comforting someone who's having a tough time. In addition to providing direct care, you are also responsible for finding coverage or filling in for other Direct Support Professionals who can't make it to work. This means you need to be ready to step up and take charge, coordinating with other habilitation team members to ensure that everyone gets the care they need.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Driver's license and auto insurance
  • Desire to work with people with developmental disabilities
  • Must be within 1 hour's driving distance of all clients' homes while on call
