DAY-TO-DAY

This full-time social work education position works the day shift.

As a Career Educator - Workforce Development Coordinator, you're responsible for developing job opportunities that are appropriate and in line with our Youth Pathways participant's career interests. You provide interview prep and coaching both individually and in groups to prepare participants for interviews. To help our participants succeed, you offer constructive feedback, assist with the employment placement and hiring processes, and guide participants to economic self-sufficiency. You also partner with internal or external operations and business partners to meet the needs of employers and job-seeking candidates.

In addition, you maximize employment opportunities for our participants and execute successful strategies for filling open job orders. Regarding employment opportunities, you receive and record information from employers as well as facilitate recruitment information sessions and workshops. You help coordinate in-house job fairs and large-scale recruitment events through employer relationships to help participants discover potential employment opportunities.

On a routine basis, you bring in job orders that align with participant interests and successfully match program graduates with opportunities. You also maintain accurate and detailed files or case notes on each participant to track their progress. Helping others achieve their career goals using your workforce development skills makes you feel good, which is why you excel in this social work education position!

REQUIREMENTS FOR A CAREER EDUCATOR - WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human services, education, or social work OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a nonprofit setting, recruiting, successful job placement, or workforce development
  • 1+ years of experience working with populations on public assistance, incarcerated individuals, disconnected youth, and those affected by the challenges associated with poverty
  • Experience in facilitating training and workshops
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
