YOUR LIFE AS A COMMUNITY JOB DEVELOPER

This full-time position at our human services nonprofit typically works during the day.

As a Community Job Developer, you call out to businesses that are currently hiring in the community to secure job placements for our HERO Dads program participants that meet our criteria. Your natural sales ability helps you meet goals and establish relationships with businesses and participants alike. To create future job opportunities and build a job bank, you maintain strong partnerships with businesses by visiting them regularly. You also get to know our participants, seeking to understand their skills and barriers to employment so that you can present them best to employers.

You keep track of your calls and field visits in weekly reports and always follow up with employers to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and next steps. You also utilize Salesforce to record case notes for each participant. Working with your team, you design recruitment strategies, job fairs, on-site employer visits, and cyber info sessions for internet job search companies that operate and screen using automated methods. You assist our retention specialists in making sure all employment data is accurate and verified. You feel a sense of pride as you see how your work directly impacts our participants and feel great knowing you make a positive difference in their lives!

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, education, or a related field
  • 1+ year of job development or placement experience in either the public or private sector
  • Experience developing jobs for individuals with disabilities and requiring special accommodations

Sales experience with marketing or public relations experience is preferred but not required. If you can meet these requirements and perform this job as described above, we would be happy to have you as part of our human services nonprofit!
