YOUR ROLE AS A SOCIAL WORKER - LCSW, LMSW
As a new Social Worker, your job is to support and help out the youth and young adults who participate in our social work program. You do this by providing counseling and guidance sessions either one-on-one or in a group setting. You're sure to keep in touch with them regularly to make sure they're on track and sticking with the program. You're also responsible for making sure that they get any additional help they need from other services, both within and outside of our organization. You keep track of their progress and make notes on what's working and what's not.
Part of your job is helping them figure out what they want to do with their education and career, and setting goals for themselves. You stay in touch with them even after they've graduated from the program, through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and social media like Facebook. You're really good at staying organized and keeping track of everything that's going on. You make sure all the participants' files are up-to-date and that you're keeping track of their progress toward their goals. Seeing participants makes progress warms your heart - you absolutely LOVE making such an impact!
REQUIREMENTS FOR A SOCIAL WORKER - LCSW, LMSW
