WHAT DOES A SCHOOL COOK DO?
As a School Cook, your day starts with a smile, fueled by the enthusiasm and passion you bring to your culinary job! You review the menu and production sheets, making sure you have all the ingredients and supplies to whip up a variety of delicious and nutritious meals. As you start cooking, you keep an eye on the quality and quantity of your culinary creations, while also making sure your cooking area is spotless and sanitary.
You enthusiastically help to train new food service personnel and instruct others on FIFO procedures. Meal time is when you really shine, overseeing food serving lines and making sure everything runs smoothly. You are also responsible for inventory, keeping weekly and monthly orders on track. With a working knowledge of all general food service positions, you're ready to jump in and help out anywhere, at a moment's notice. Whether it's a regular school day or a special event, you bring your A-game, always available for nights and weekends as needed for sporting events, catering, and banquets. You love being part of our exceptional and innovative food service team!
