A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

As a Food Service Worker, you help keep the school's kitchen, dining/serving area, and storeroom running smoothly. You help with cleaning, food prep, maintenance, stocking, and serving. Working as part of a team, you make sure that items are well-stocked.

Throughout your shift, you can be found setting up tables, removing trash, sweeping floors, or cleaning the dining and storage areas. Having a part-time job that will earn you some spending money while still in school is awesome, and you love having this opportunity!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

Minimum Requirements

• Must have some knowledge of food service or food preparation for this type of work.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must be able to obtain Alaska Food Worker's Card within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one (1) year of work experience or documented vocational training sufficient to demonstrate a knowledge of cleaning equipment, food preparation, and general cleaning processes or a suitability for this type of work preferred
