A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOSPITAL FLOOR TECH

As a Hospital Floor Tech, you show up to work each day eager to keep our facilities shining. Before using any equipment to strip, buff, wax, or shampoo the flooring, you perform a maintenance check to ensure the equipment is functioning properly. When you know it's good to go, you get busy cleaning.

You also remove trash, assist with laundry, and perform general janitorial tasks in different areas of the hospital as needed. Places like the lobbies, closets, copy rooms, hallways, and stairs are kept orderly under your care. Your commitment to maintaining a strong work ethic shines through in all you do. At the end of the day, you walk out those doors knowing you left only your best out on the floor!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOSPITAL FLOOR TECH

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment and involvement in or intermediate knowledge of corporate safety programs
  • Must be able to use a variety of floor care equipment, extractors, riding extractors, floor scrubbers, auto scrubbers, etc.
  • The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • This contract requires all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals that are offered positions and are prevented from being vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons will work closely with human resources to evaluate their specific situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certain positions may require a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
