YOUR DAY AS AN ARMED SECURITY GUARD - SAFETY OFFICER

As an Armed Security Guard - Safety Officer, you have one of the most important jobs out there! You get to make sure that all kinds of businesses in and around the Alaska Railroad in Fairbanks are safe and secure, and that's something to be proud of! You cover a huge area of property, whether you're cruising around in a car or checking things out on foot, and sometimes you even get to travel by train - talk about excitement!

Your role is all about ensuring that everything is safe and secure, and you're amazing at it. You regularly check doors and windows and keep an eye out for anything unusual. If anything goes wrong, you're the one who steps up to save the day. But what's even better is that your job is super dynamic - there's always something to do! You keep busy checking heating and lighting to make sure they're working properly, issuing and keeping track of ID badges, and responding to all kinds of emergencies. All in all, being a Security Guard - Safety Officer is an absolutely amazing job, and you get to make a real difference in people's lives. You're a hero!

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN AN ARMED SECURITY GUARD - SAFETY OFFICER

Are you highly observant and vigilant? Can you think on your feet and solve problems quickly? Are you a driven and motivated individual? If yes, you might just be perfect for this Armed Security Guard - Safety Officer position!

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 3+ years of security, law enforcement, or military experience
• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy
• Ability to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to beginning work
• Must qualify and obtain an Alaska Armed Guard License.
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients
• Ability to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision
• Ability to be on your feet for 8-12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
• Must be safety oriented as this is a safety-sensitive position.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.

Noise level: Moderate to loud

Must constantly be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
