A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A UTILITY - MAINTENANCE WORKER

As a Utility - Maintenance Worker, your job with the Nome School District is to keep things running smoothly. You do this by performing various tasks like cleaning, maintaining the facilities, preparing food, stocking, and serving. With careful attention to detail, you make sure everything looks neat and tidy. You wipe down counters, remove trash, and restock food stations, among other things.

A team player, you're always willing to help out your team members when they need it. You enjoy keeping busy and are always ready to clean dishes, storage areas, the kitchen, and equipment. You also help with big cleaning projects when they come up. Being a part of the team makes you happy!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A UTILITY - MAINTENANCE WORKER

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Some combination of education or experience that evidences a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes
• A working cell phone number to use on the job (cell phone is used to dispatch work)
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior janitorial/custodian experience
