WHAT DOES A ROTATIONAL HOSPITAL COOK DO?

As a Rotational Hospital Cook, you deliver exceptional food services at our healthcare center! You bring your passion for cooking to lead our culinary team in retail, patient, and catering operations. Responsible for menu planning, quality control measures, inventory, quality control, and sanitation of the work environment, you always make sure to pay close attention to details. With your leadership skills, you manage our culinary team to make sure that services are always on par.

You review the needs of the day with the supervisor and then lead the team through the needed daily tasks. You're an organizing pro, and you use those skills to coordinate the staff, oversee cafeteria flow, and ensure that everything is fully stocked. A true team player, you hop in and help cover for others as needed. Keeping our food service running smoothly fills you with great satisfaction!

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Alaska food handlers card or ServSafe certification contingent upon 30 days of hire
• 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in a commercial kitchen in a food service operation, restaurant, hotel, or hospital with significant supervisory responsibilities
• Ability to follow standardized written recipes
• Proficiency using the following equipment: steam tables, dish machines, trash carts, knives, ovens, slicers, mixers, grills, grinders, fryers, broilers, flat tops, counter mixers, roasting ovens, and kettles
• Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act, and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
• This work location requires COVID-19 vaccination.

Preferred

• 3+ years of direct cook experience
• Cafeteria dining or healthcare experience
