DAY-TO-DAY
This full-time job placement position works during the day.
As an Employment Specialist, you have the fantastic opportunity to positively impact your community by working with our human services nonprofit! Your role's objective as an employment coordinator is to hit monthly job placement goals by working closely with our case managers to place clients in quality, long-term, unsubsidized jobs. You maintain strong relationships with the business community and leverage these connections to create a funnel of job openings for our clients. Every day, you conduct cold calls and foot prospects to potential employers, identifying businesses that are currently hiring. As you build these connections, you discover which companies are willing to offer preferential treatment to Fedcap customers. You also develop trusted working relationships with assigned TANF customers. Your interpersonal skills come into play when you conduct interviews with clients to understand their needs. These conversations help you to present them to potential employers in the best way possible. Prior to job placement, you facilitate the successful utilization of job readiness training, rapid job searching, job retention services, and education services for each client. You guide clients through a learn-by-doing process during their service planning and delivery, and through monitoring customer engagement and progress up through our client's first year of employment.
In this job placement role, you have the opportunity to participate in collaborative training and design recruitment strategies for onsite employer visits, hiring fairs, and other informational sessions. You observe all policies and procedures while attending all scheduled, required training and certifications. You use your organizational skills to review DHS-administered assessments, develop and amend Customers' Detailed Individual Responsibility Plans (DIRPs), and help customers reach their employment goals. You verify and report all aspects of customer milestone achievements to DHS, documenting activities, participation, compliance, and employment progress in the Electronic Case Management (ECM) systems. Your attention to detail is essential as you assist in compiling data for reports, including customer timesheets and placements and retention reports. You feel a sense of pride because you are aware of the help this employment coordinator position offers. You are satisfied each day and are willing to step it up to help our clients through our human services nonprofit.
