A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SECURITY GUARD - SAFETY OFFICER
As a Security Guard - Safety Officer, you're responsible for monitoring assigned areas at a variety of office facilities throughout the Anchorage area. You personally monitor the areas or grounds you're assigned. If you note anything out of the ordinary, you report it and handle it as appropriate. You also use your interpersonal communication skills to de-escalate situations or provide assistance.
You ensure the safety of the facility, record any data related to property damage, examine doors and windows, respond to any emergencies, and issue/record ID badges. Working as a security officer is an important job that requires focus and attention in order to ensure the safety and security of the building. You feel good about the important work you do each day!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SECURITY GUARD - SAFETY OFFICER

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions.
Noise level: Moderate to loud
Description of environment: This is a public setting.
Must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
