A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR

As a Food Service Supervisor, you work hard to ensure customer satisfaction in a school cafeteria setting. You excel in directing daily operations including menu planning, purchasing, inventory management, meal preparation, and food storage.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Municipality of Anchorage food handler's card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire
• 5+ years of work in food service or related experience with significant supervisory responsibilities
• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of school cafeteria dining experience
• Familiarity with national school lunch programs

Weather: Indoors: environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: Moderate

Description of environment: This is an industrial hospital kitchen located in a healthcare setting.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50lbs Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
