YOUR LIFE AS A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT - EMPLOYMENT COACH
This full-time employment coaching position working with individuals with disabilities at our nonprofit typically works the day shift during business hours.
As a Workforce Development - Employment Coach in human services, you are responsible for using structured intervention techniques to help individuals with disabilities learn how to maintain competitive community-based employment. You meet with employers to ascertain job duties and daily responsibilities for your clients. While at the work site, you provide time-limited job coaching assistance that's personalized to each individual to help them understand their new job duties and environment. Through direct observations, you evaluate their work performance and offer needed support to improve workflow and behaviors to meet the expectations of their company of employment.
As your clients become independent in their jobs, you cease job coaching and provide natural support at each work site. You also conduct job shadowing of clients as needed and provide some training prior to job placement. In a timely manner, you complete the necessary paperwork for funders and send out bills for services. You enjoy having a job that uses your workforce development expertise to help individuals with disabilities, which is why you thrive as an employment specialist for our nonprofit!
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred. At least two years of experience in a customer service setting or employment coaching with a nonprofit would be a plus, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. If you can meet these requirements and perform this human services position as described above, we would be happy to have you as part of our team!
