YOUR DAY AS A CULINARY ATTENDANT - COOK
As a Culinary Attendant - Cook in our healthcare facility, your days are busy and exciting. You start your shift in the kitchen, reviewing the menu and production sheets to make sure you have all the necessary ingredients and supplies to create a variety of delicious and nutritious meals. Then, you get to work by starting the prep and cooking process, following both Nutritional Services and Health Department standards. Throughout the day, you constantly check the quality and quantity of your creations.
You also assist with training new food service personnel, observe and instruct others on FIFO procedures, and keep detailed temperature and sanitation logs. At mealtimes, you oversee the food serving lines and coffee bars, making sure everything is running smoothly and that everyone is happy with their meals. Food safety is a top priority, and you always make sure your cooking area is spotless and sanitary. Cooking, cleaning, and making sure everyone is well-fed and healthy gives you great satisfaction - you love that you're doing such important work!
