A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BARISTA

As a customer service superstar at our museum, you are the go-to for all things coffee, tea, and delicious beverages. With your expert barista skills, you brew a tantalizing array of specialty drinks using the finest espresso machines and coffee urns. Not only do you serve up delicious coffee, but you also act as a cashier, handling transactions with ease and a smile.

You don't just stop at drinks - you're a fountain of knowledge, always eager to assist guests. Throughout your shift, you can be found removing trash, cleaning dishes, and stocking products. If there are ever any issues, you're quick to report them to the supervisor on duty. With your outgoing personality, you relish the opportunity to meet and serve new people every day - it's what makes your job so exciting!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BARISTA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least one (1) year of experience working as a barista
• At least one (1) year of experience that evidences a working knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment and industrial cleaning processes
• At least one (1) year of experience in commercial housekeeping
• Must have intermediate skills with QuickBooks Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
• Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to drug tests, physical and fit-for-duty assessment, and hearing tests. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.
• Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions at the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to be on your feet for 12-15 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation. This is a split shift with a 2-3 hour break in the middle of the shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
