A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOSPITAL COOK

As a Hospital Cook, you ensure that patients, their visitors, and hospital staff have access to nutritious meals throughout the day. After reviewing the needs of the day with the supervisor on duty, you get to work cooking and creating dishes that all who visit the hospital can enjoy. Reliable and flexible, you are a valuable asset to our food service team.

When not actively engaged in food preparation, you help keep the kitchen area, snack lines, and dining areas cleaned, sanitized, organized, and fully stocked. A natural leader, you assist with the training and supervising of our food service staff. Knowing that your cooking is lifting hearts and filling bellies makes you proud!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOSPITAL COOK

The ideal applicant will either live in or be willing to move to Kotzebue, AK. Can you effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Are you friendly with great communication skills? Do you take pride in cooking food that's both healthy and delicious? If yes, you might just be perfect for this food service position!

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of directly related food preparation or cooking experience
• Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 90 days of hire
• Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act, and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• This contract requires all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals that are offered positions and are prevented from being vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons will work with human resources to evaluate their specific situations.
