QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN HVAC TECHNICIAN

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least four (4) years of verifiable and advanced HVAC experience
• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy
• Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: background investigation, SIDA security clearance, criminal record check, drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment, and hearing test.
• Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
• Must be willing to travel routinely by commercial airline within Alaska.
• Assist other maintenance technicians, regardless of skill set.
• This position may require up to 75% of travel out of the Anchorage area to multiple Alaskan cities. Overnight stays may be required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoor/Outdoor – occasional exposure to harsh weather conditions; requires work to be done both inside and outside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Description of environment: Office building with a standard office environment.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

Travel: Employees may travel up to 75% of the time throughout Alaska and/or remote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes, and ATVs.
