YOUR LIFE AS A FOOD SERVICE ATTENDANT

This full- or part-time position typically works nights and weekends.

As a Food Service Attendant, you are vital to our mission of caring for those who come into our medical center. You come in for your shift ready to clean, prepare food, work the call operator center, stock inventory, and serve food. You follow safety and sanitary guidelines as you prepare various food products. Customer-service oriented, you assist our customers with requests and inquiries. You also process room service orders as they come in. As you serve, you always have a friendly smile on your face.

With attention to detail, you operate the point-of-sale system to record prices, compile printed lists, and display costs. You enthusiastically keep our kitchen clean and organized. You can be found washing dishes, sweeping floors, and removing garbage throughout your shift. You love working in our medical center under our revered executive chef and with our amazing team!


WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Handlers Card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire.
  • Must have at least six (6) months of experience in the food service industry.
  • Must have at least some combination of formal documented training, education, or experience which demonstrates an interest in or a suitability for this type of work.
  • Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act, and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
  • The contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
  • Proof of immunization for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox), TB, and any other immunizations and screenings designated in the current ANTHC Employee Health Program for Infection Control in Hospital Personnel.
  • The contract requires candidates to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.
  • Contractor may be required to maintain all employee health records on site.
  • This contract requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last dose). If you are not fully vaccinated please acknowledge that, in order to be hired, you must be fully vaccinated or have a client/company-approved exemption.

Background Requirement:

Level One: An individual is ineligible to work in any position that has regular contact with or control over children, dependent adults, or vulnerable persons if the individual has been convicted of:

  • One or more felonies and/or two or more misdemeanors of crimes against persons or crimes of violence
  • Any crime against a child, dependent adult, or vulnerable person, regardless of its classification as a felony, misdemeanor, or other types of offense
  • Any sex crime, regardless of its classification as a felony, misdemeanor, or another type of offense
  • Murder

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of customer service experience
  • Six (6) months of cashier experience

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors: environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: Moderate

Description of environment: This is an industrial hospital kitchen located in a healthcare setting.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
