Paramount Events in Chicago, IL is looking to hire a full-time or part-time Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. This baking position earns a competitive wage of $18 - $24/hour, based on experience. We provide our employees with 5 days of paid time off (PTO) during the first year of employment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PASTRY COOK
As a Pastry Cook with our hospitality team, you are responsible for baking bread in various forms while accurately following our recipes. You mix all bread dough as well as monitor dough development and fermentation rates. Once the dough is ready, you accurately divide, shape, and pre-shape the bread dough according to specifications. You package bread for delivery and create timelines to ensure that the production schedule is being consistently met. You also maintain sourdough cultures, so the bread is being prepared accurately.
When you aren't tending to bread duties, you assist our pastry chefs with other tasks around the kitchen. You help out with catering field events as needed. Using your exceptional communication skills, you maintain consistent contact with your supervisor to keep them informed of your baking processes. Your workstation is always in great shape and in accordance with all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Because of your love for baking, you maintain a strong curiosity about bread making to further your skills in the field. You find great fulfillment in doing what you love every day, which is why you thrive in this culinary position!

WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time baking position with our kitchen works a typical schedule of 5 AM - 1 PM, Sunday to Thursday.
