Are you an experienced, flexible, energetic hospitality professional? We are seeking an Assistant General Manager for the beautiful Embassy Suites in South Jordan Utah. The main function of the Assistant General Manager is to assist the General Manager in the daily operations as well as oversee all hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.

You ensure efficient and profitable operations of all departments. You have high standards, you lead by example, you build morale and motivate and help maintain the highest standards of excellence amongst the employees by demonstrating strong communication skills and superior leadership abilities.

You will be responsible for managing in a manner consistent with the mission, operating philosophy, standards and values of Western States Lodging & Management.

Our requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a department head, supervisor or manager in a resort or hotel.
  • Work weekends and holidays.
  • Timeshare management experience is beneficial but not a requirement
  • Experience in managing extranets, yielding rates, web management, and channel management.
  • Payroll review, 401K procedures and newsletter article contributions.
  • Monitor no-show charges, cancellations, research credit card disputes and process chargebacks, commission calculations and verifications with 3rd party online travel agencies.
  • Inspect guestrooms and public areas to ensure that our high-quality standards are upheld
  • Make reservations, check-in and check-out guests as needed. Assist the front desk in providing excellent customer service to all guests.
  • Responsible for monitoring and responding to Guest feedback on all Social Media platforms. A strong knowledge of social media is preferred.
  • Promote the hotel within the hotel industry, local community and trade associations.
  • Receive and resolve guest complaints and ensure a positive outcome.
  • Participates in the hiring process of all departments.
  • Responsible for reviewing employee performance and disciplinary actions if needed.
  • Possess a strong background in hospitality with exceptional customer service, communication, interpersonal relationships, writing and leadership skills.
  • Great in maintaining an excellent team environment and be a team motivator.
  • Be well organized, proactive, have strong computer skills, able to navigate the internet and computer literate in Windows operating system, general email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Possess superior writing and verbal skills in English.
  • Ability to develop and write routine reports, safety manuals and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively and easily before guests, employees, and groups.
  • Ability to oversee and guide Front Desk, Maintenance and Housekeeping department.
